Fostering is the most amazing experience, where you learn to love unconditionally, with open arms and open heart!

Becoming a mother has been my dream since I was five years old. The moment we received a call from social services for a placement, that day our lives changed forever.
We were a couple experiencing infertility with a big desire to become parents. We knew the journey of fostering could open that door for us and we took a risk, knowing our hearts could be broken. We hold in our arms the most beautiful African American little boy. He was 29 pounds and 6 months old. What a journey, it took us six months to reinsure our son that he was safe with us. Six month of none sleep, as he had severe anxiety and will wake up every one to two hours every day. This was the hardest part of fostering trying to console an infant who at a young age had experience trauma. It took a lot of dedication and love until he felt safe. Fostering was an emotional roller coaster experience; many tears, anxiety, fear and long hours praying. We were very lucky to have Zahir in our lives; we are better people thanks to him. The day his adoption took place was the best day ever. We are so blessed and he is our happiness. Fostering is the most amazing experience, where you learn to love unconditionally, with open arms and open heart!
